Spring, Sun Eclipse and Ruka!
Hello there! It is time for a new story again, because it is Tuesday! I thought, the spring is now there (it is snowy at the moment), so it is also time for a new looking of my blog. So, what do you think about it? I hope it is even better! Let's start with my blog for this week :)

Terug naar Tito, want die hebben we alweer een tijdje gemist. Zoals de oude Hawaiianen altijd zeiden: "Hoge golven worden door surfers nooit opgemerkt, er wordt alleen geklaagd bij lage golven". Dit heeft voor mij betrekking op het weer, omdat sommigen kunnen zeuren om het weer. Nu sneeuwt het op het moment, terwijl we vorige week prachtig lenteweer hebben gehad, niet klagen dus :)
Momenteel ben ik bier aan het drinken terwijl ik dit aan het typen ben, omdat ik net een pak bier per ongeluk heb laten vallen. Daardoor zijn een aantal blikken bier open gesprongen en heeft God mij de plicht geroepen om bier te drinken om half 3 in de middag. Tsjaaa, de plicht roept zeggen we maar.
Afgelopen week was het wederom een geweldige week, waarin ik weer heb mogen genieten van mijn Erasmus-studentenleven en van de prachtige natuur in Oulu.
Vorige week was ik geëindigd op de woensdagavond, omdat ik toen pas tijd had. Daarom starten we bij deze blog op de donderdag. De donderdag was niet zo bijzonder, behalve dat op donderdag altijd een volle dag school is. Een bijzonder moment was tijdens Human Resource Management, waarbij we een soort 'Personal Branding' hadden. Hierbij was er een moment waarbij we naar klassieke muziek gingen luisteren en gingen bedenken wat onze droombaan was voor een aantal minuten. Heel bizar, maar ik had mijn droombaan gevonden als directeur van een wereldgroots bedrijf, Philips bijvoorbeeld. Ongeveer hetzelfde als "The Wolf of Wallstreet", want ik had Leonardo Di Caprio in mijn hoofd...
Maar goed, op naar de vrijdag, want daar was het tijd voor school in de ochtend. Inspiratievolle lessen, beetje vreemd... Om 11 uur was het tijd om naar de zonsverduistering te kijken, want ja mensen, in Oulu scheen de zon en was het volop helder. De meeste mensen in Nederland werden volgens mij depressief na het zien van de zonsverduistering, door de bewolking en de grijze lucht... Ik zal jullie vertellen, het was niet zo heel bijzonder om te zien, maar het is mooi om mee te maken. Allemaal natuurverschijnselen in Oulu, prachtig! Alleen wanneer je door een speciaal soort bril keek, kon je de maan zien. Dat was mooi, en dat er een ander soort licht in Oulu was, was ook bijzonder. Maar goed, daarna was het tijd om te gaan lunchen, ski's op te halen en naar huis, om voor te bereiden op een feest in Tivoli op de vrijdagavond.
De zaterdagochtend was het tijd om vroeg op te staan, want we gingen met de bus naar Ruka! Ruka, waar ligt dat? Ik heb het zelf ook even op moeten zoeken, maar het ligt een x aantal kilometer van de Russische grens af en ligt iets noordelijker dan Oulu zelf. Wat gingen we doen in Ruka? Het was de bedoeling om te gaan skieën, wat de meeste mensen ook gingen doen. Ik had zelf ook al de skies gehuurd etc., maar in Ruka bedachten we nadat we naar de supermarkt te zijn geweest, om met de sneeuwscooter op pad te gaan. Ja, het is de tweede keer, maar het blijft ongelooflijk gaaf om te doen! Het was een prachtige, zonnige dag, waarbij het perfect weer was om buitenactiviteiten te doen. Na een aantal uren rond te hebben gelopen in Ruka, gingen we op pad naar de sneeuwscooterplaats. Het was tijd om op avontuur te gaan voor twee uur. Een prachtige route en heerlijk om op los te gaan, wat was dat weer een avontuur om mee te maken. Beter dan de hele dag skii'en of andere dingen. Na weer terug te zijn belandt van het heftige avontuur, was het tijd voor eten en de terugreis met de bus. Dat was me weer een dagje...
De zondag was het tijd voor uitslapen! Vervolgens wat het tijd voor de was en had ik de hele dag de tijd besteed aan school. Klinkt saai, is het ook. Twee overleggen gehad op een zondag... dat is niet niks. Vervolgens ook nog tot in de avond doorgewerkt aan andere opdrachten. Na al het schoolwerk was het tijd voor ontspanning en dus tijd voor de sauna. Dat is altijd heerlijk om te doen.
Op de maandag was het weer schooltijd, althans, dat was de planning. Eenmaal op school aankomende, bleek de lerares ziek te zijn. Tijd voor eten en terug naar huis dus. Thuis kon ik gelukkig weer bijkomen en verder gaan aan andere schoolopdrachten. In de avond was het nog tijd voor een grappige film, maar meer bijzonders kan ik er helaas niet van maken...
De dinsdag had ik geen les, dus kon ik rustig mijn ski's terugbrengen en gaan lunchen op school. In de middag boodschappen doen en rustig thuis het nieuws volgen over de crash van Airbus A320, verschrikkelijk omte horen...
Dat was helaas alweer mijn verhaal van deze week... Maar niet getreurd, volgende week weer een nieuw verhaal :) Terwijl de winter hier in Finland nog vrolijk doorgaat, hoop ik dat het in Nederland beter wordt. Het is bijna april en dat betekent dat de lente écht gaat aanbreken. We zullen zien wat ervan gaat komen...
Ik mis inmiddels wel de patat met mayonaise, maar ik weet dat het op me wacht! In ieder geval voor jullie, tot volgende week!

Let's go back to Tito, because we've been missed Tito for a while. Like the old Hawaiians always said: "High waves are never notice by surfers, they are just complaining about the low waves". This reminds me of the weather, because some people could so much complain about the weather. At the moment, it is snowy in Oulu, while last week we have had beautiful weather of spring. So, don't complain about the weather :)
At the moment, am I drinking beer and texting at the same moment, because I just went to the super market and the package of beer slipped out of my hand. As the result, a couple of beer cans blew open and God has called me the duty to drink beer at half past two in the afternoon. Yeaaaahh, it's a call of the duty, we said.
Last week was it an another great week, in which I have been able to enjoy my Erasmus-student life again and of course, I enjoyed the beautiful nature in Oulu.
Last week, I ended up on Wednesday evening, because it was the only time I've had time that week. That's why we will start this blog on Thursday. The Thursday was not that special, except that school is the main part of the Thursday. A special moment was during Human Resource Management, where we had a kind of 'Personal Branding'. There was a moment whereby we had to listen to classic music and we had to think about our dream job for several minutes. Very bizarre, but I found my dream job as CEO of a world company, Philips for example. Approximately the same as "The Wolf of Wall Street", because I had Leonard Di Caprio in my mind...
Anyway, up to the Friday, because it was time for school in the morning. Inspiring classes, a little bit strange... At 11 o'clock it was time to watch for the Solar Eclipse, because yes people, in Oulu, the sun was shining and it was fully bright. In my opinion, most of the people in the Netherlands became depressive after watching to the Solar Eclipse, through the clouds and gray air... I will tell you, it was not that special to see, but it nice to see it once in your lifetime. The next one is probably in 2021. All of the natural phenomena in Oulu are gorgeous! Only when you had a look through special kind of glasses, you could see the moon. That was beautiful, and there was another kind of light in Oulu, also special. But okay, after that it was time to go for lunch, pick up the ski's and go home, preparing for a party in Tivoli on Friday night.
At the Saturday morning, it was time to get up early, because we went with the bus to Ruka! Ruka, where is that? I had to look it up by myself too, but it is a x kilometers away of the Russian border, and is placed a little bit more in the north than Oulu. What was the planning to do in Ruka? Actually, the planning was to go skiing, what most of the people did Saturday. I borrowed also already the ski's etc., but in Ruka we changed our mind after we went to the supermarket, and we went out with the snowmobile. Yes, it was my second time, but it is still unbelievable and incredible to do! It was a wonderful, sunny day, whereby the weather was perfect to do outside activities. After we walked around a few hours in Ruka, we went to the snow scooter place. It was time for an adventure for two hours. A wonderful route and delicious to go wild, it was an amazing adventure to experience. Better then skiing for the whole day or doing other stuff. After we came back of our big adventure, it was time for food and our long way back with the bus. That was a pretty good day.
At Sunday, it was time to sleep out! After that, it was time to do the laundry and I spent the whole day out of school. Sounds boring, but it is boring. I had two short consults on the Sunday.. that is much. After that I worked on other assignments until the evening. And after all the schoolwork, it was time for relaxing and so, it was time for sauna. That is always lovely to do.
On Monday, it was school time, at least, that was the planning. When I arrived at school, they told me the teacher was ill. So, it was time for food and I went back home. At home, it was time for a chill out and make some assignments for school. In the evening, it was time for a funny movie, but unfortunately, I could not make it more special than it looks like...
At Tuesday, I had no class, so I could bring back my ski's and go for a lunch at school. In the afternoon, I did the groceries and I were able to follow the news about the air crash of Airbus A320, terrible to hear...
That was unfortunately my story of this week... But don't be dissapointed, next week there is a new story again :) While the winter here in Finland still cheerfully continues, I hope it will be better in the Netherlands. It is almost April and that means the spring is dawning. We will see what is coming...
Meanwhile, I miss really the French fries with mayonnaise, but I know it is waiting for me! At least for you, until next week!
